About Curd Jürgens
Curd Jürgens began his acting career as a stage performer in Vienna, Austria. He started gaining attention in 1944 when he was cast in the film “Wiener Mädeln”. The German-born Austria actor starred in many films but was globally known for his role in the 1995 film “Des Teufels General (The Devil's General)” in which he appeared as Ernst Udet.
His villain role in the 1977 James Bond movie “The Spy Who Loved Me” made him one of the most popular film actors of his generation.
Family
His parents were simply referred to as Marie-Albertine and Kurt. His two sisters were named Marguerite and Jeanette. He was married five times. His first was to actress Lulu Basler. Before tying the knot with Margie Schmitz in 1978, he had married and divorced Simone Bicheron, Judith Holzmeister, and Eva Bartok.
