Clint Black is a multiple award-winning and talented American country musician, record producer, and actor. He is also the founder of Equity Music Group.
Early life
He lived in Katy, Texas, throughout his childhood. By age 13, he had learned the art of playing harmonica and wrote his first song when he turned 14. He then mastered playing the guitar and joined his elder brothers in their band.
Along with his brothers, they performed for their neighbors who came to "barbecue nights" on weekends in their backyard.
Career Highlights
In 1989, he signed with RCA Nashville. The musician released his debut single, "A Better Man," that same year, and it topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts in June. His debut album, "Killin' Time," was also released the same year. The album topped Billboard's country album charts, achieved platinum certification in 1990, and enjoyed good commercial sales.
He followed his incredible debut with several successful country albums and singles that topped numerous charts worldwide. As of 2020, he had released 13 studio albums.
Awards
In 1990, he won the Favorite Country New Artist at the American Music Awards. In addition, he has received over five Grammy nominations and is a recipient of the Grammy Award for Best Country Collaborations.
