In 1973, he and Robin Williams were the only students selected for Juilliard's Advanced Program. He was married to actress Dana Reeve and they had 3 children. He died of cardiac arrest in 2004.
He became a quadriplegic after being thrown from a horse during a competition in 1995. He was in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
