Personal Life
His full name is Christopher Ward Norman. He got interested in music when he was just a little boy and was given a guitar at seven years old. Listening to the likes of Elvis Presley and Lonnie Donegan, Chris developed more interest in music. He spent a lot of time in different places because his parents moved from one place to another. He ended up getting his education from about ten schools in total.
Career
He met Alan Silson who was also a music fanatic in school. They started getting together and playing songs on their guitars while learning new ones. Not long after, Terry Uttley, another member from school joined them. When Ron Kelly joined them, a band was formed which was named “The Elizabethans” which would later become the band “Smokie”. They worked well and toured different places all over the world. At the time, Ron Kelly had been replaced by Pete Spencer. In 1986, Chris decided to go solo and started with the release of “Midnight Lady” which was a huge hit.
