About Chris Martin
Chris Martin became the lead singer and co-founder of the English band Coldplay which was formed in 1996. Since their first album “Parachutes” (2000), they have released more than eight studio albums, and have achieved exceptional global fame and success, regarded by many as one of the biggest bands in the world this century.
Family and Education
He is the eldest child of Anthony John Martin and Allison Martin. He was educated at Exeter Cathedral School, Sherborne School and graduated with a first-class honor from University College London.
Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow got married in 2003 and they gave birth to children namely Apple and Moses Martin. In 2016, the couple went their separate ways. The musician then started to see Dakota Johnson.
History
Chris found his love for music very young during his prep school education at the Exeter Cathedral School. He met Coldplay's manager Phil Harvey while at the boarding school Sherborne in Dorset. While studying at UCL, Chris met his Coldplay bandmates. The band gained wider recognition after the release of their first album “Parachutes”, which peaked at number 1 on the United Kingdom Billboard Charts.
Aside from “Parachute”, their other albums include “A Rush of Blood to the Head” (2002), “Viva La Vida” (2008) and their seventh album “A Head Full of Dreams” (2015).
As a member of the band, he is also a solo artist and has written songs for popular musicians like Nelly Furtado, Rita Ora, Big Sean, Burna Boy and Kylie Minogue.
As part of charity work, Chris Martin performed at Sam West Studios and the purpose of the performance was to raise funds for Western Africa during the Ebola Crisis in 2014.
Collaborations
In 2006, he collaborated with the famous American rapper, Jay Z on his ninth album titled “Kingdom Come”.
Also, Chris Martin had a collaboration with Avicii on his sophomore album “Stories” before Avicii met his untimely death in 2018.
Trivia
He established a Moroccan restaurant in California named Tagine.
Also, he supported the issues of fair trade and he showed great support during the campaign of the “Make Fair Trade” organized by Oxfam.
