About Charlie Manuel
Charlie Manuel is a former pro baseball player and coach best known for playing for the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Dodgers. As a coach, he led the Philadelphia Phillies to winning the 2008 World Series.
Baseball and Coaching Career
Manuel played for the Twins between 1969 and 1972 and the Dodgers between 1974-1975 as a left fielder and pinch-hitter.
After his six-season career in the MLB, he joined the Japanese league, where he found fame due to his style of play. Manuel played for two Japanese teams: the Yakult Swallows and the Kintetsu Buffaloes.
After retiring, he worked as a coach and manager for the Cleveland Indians and the Phillies.

Family Life
Manuel married Melissa Martin in 2015. He has two biological children, three step-children, and a slew of grandchildren. He is also a heart attack and kidney cancer survivor.
