About Charles Boyer
Charles was a very talented French-American actor who graced the screens of his fans and audience for over five decades.
Personal Life
He was born to a merchant by the name Maurice Boyer and Augustine Louise Durand. He did not know much about movies as a little boy and only came to see and like them after he was ten years old. In 1942, he became a US citizen. He attended a dinner party and met the beautiful actress, Pat Patterson. He courted her for just two weeks before engaging her then he married her three months later. Their marriage stood strong for over four decades. They had a son who committed suicide when he was just twenty-one after splitting with his girlfriend.
Career
He has featured in a lot of films including “Captain Fracasse”, “Gaslight”, “The Man from Yesterday”, “Red Headed Woman” and “History is Made at Night”.
Death
He passed away in 1978 after he committed suicide.
Achievement
He has been nominated for an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a Laurel Award and an Emmy but did not win any. He however made it to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
