About Cha Bum-kun
Former South Korean football manager and successful player Cha Bum-Kun is hailed as one of the finest Asian players of all time. He gained acclaim for his many attributes including powerful ball-striking abilities and speed.
Before his professional career in 1976 with Korea Trust Bank, he played football for Korea University throughout his student years. After experiencing success with the team, he moved on to play for other prosperous teams, including ROK Air Force Darmstadt, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Bayer Leverkusen.
He played an important role in the South Korean national football team from 1972 to 1986, representing them in several competitions, including the qualifying rounds for the 1978 and 1986 FIFA World Cups.
Coaching Career
Cha Bum-Kun is renowned, as a coach, for his work with several prestigious clubs, including Suwon Samsung Bluewings, Shenzhen Ping'an, and Hyundai Horang-i of South Korea.
