About Cathy Rigby
Cathy Rigby is the stage name of a world-renowned American retired gymnast, activist, and actress who became a household name for her legendary Broadway depiction of Peter Pan and her performance in the 1968 Summer Olympics.
Considered to be one of the greatest American gymnasts, she was well-known in international competitions and was instrumental in the development of gymnastics in the United States. A two-time Olympian, she made history as the first female athlete from the United States to win an international gymnastic medal.
Following her retirement in gymnastics, she still remained in the public spotlight after her competitive career, reinventing herself as a musical-comedy actress most renowned for her role as Peter. Rigby also became a leading advocate of healthy eating at the same time, publicly addressing her personal struggles with anorexia and bulimia.
