About Carmen Miranda
Carmen Miranda was a prominent Brazilian vocalist, dancer and actor who rose to prominence in the 1930s. She was labelled "The Brazilian Bombshell" due to her trademark fruit hat costume.
She shot to fame after her performance in Joubert de Carvalho's "Ta (Pra Você Gostar de Mim)" during the 1930s.
She went on to appear in numerous films and television series like “Week-End in Havana”, “Carmen Miranda: Bananas is My Business” and “Estudantes”.

Facts
She became the highest-paid actress in America in the 1940s.
At the age of 14, she worked in a tie store to help pay for her sister's medical expenses. She then went on to work at a shop where was taught how to make hats, before starting her own hat company.
She died of a heart attack.
She was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame in 1960.
