Carl Sagan was an American astronomer and writer.
His Highlights/Legacy
He is mainly responsible for discovering the high surface temperatures of Venus, as well as researching for extraterrestrial life. He wrote dozens of books and hundreds of scientific articles during his career.
Books: "Cosmos", "Contact", "The Dragons of Eden", "Broca's Brain".
"Cosmos" and "Contact" were adapted for the TV series and the film of the same name, respectively, by Sagan.
His Awards
He won the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, 2 Emmy Awards for the TV series "Cosmos: A Personal Voyage" and the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction for "The Dragons of Eden".
His Personal Life
He was married 3 times and he had 5 children. He died of pneumonia at the age of 62.
