About Canibus
Canibus is the professional alias of Jamaican-born American rapper and actor Germaine Williams. He gained attention as a freestyling sensation in the early 1990s, years before he released his first album, “Can-I-Bus”. He has also performed as half of the now-defunct Refugee Camp All-Stars alongside John Forte and is a member of hip hop supergroup, the Four Horsemen.
Family Life
The late West Indian cricket player Basil Williams was his father. Growing up, he lived in London, The Bronx, New Jersey, Buffalo, Newark, Miami, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta.
Achievements
He was included in the “Top 50 Lyricists of All Time” list by the entertainment and hip hop website The Source and in the “Top 50 MCs of Our Time” list by About.com.
Trivia
He served in the United States Army from 2002 to 2004 when he was discharged for smoking cannabis.
