About Cam Ward
Cam Ward is a former Canadian ice hockey player who featured mostly as goaltender. The majority of his playing days were spent with the NHL team, Carolina Hurricanes. He was drafted by the Hurricanes in 2002 during that year’s NHL Draft.
During the twilight of his career, he featured for the Chicago-based NHL team, Chicago Blackhawks.
Ward’s junior career saw him feature, between 2000 and 2004, for the WHL side, Red Deer Rebels.
Family
He is the second child born to Laurel and Ken Ward. He got married to Cody Ward. The couple are parents to a son named Nolan and a daughter named Nyla.
Achievements
In 2006, Ward played a very crucial role in the Hurricanes’ side that won the Stanley Cup. He was named the MVP during the playoffs and was accordingly awarded with the Conn Smythe Trophy for his remarkable efforts.
He also starred for his nation’s national hockey team and was part of the squads that featured and won the IIHF World Championships in 2007 and 2008. The championships were held in Finland and Russia, respectively.

He made his debut for the Hurricanes in October of 2005. He is a product of F.R. Haythorne Jr. High School and he also studied at Salisbury Composite High School.
