About Buck Taylor
Taylor, an award-winning American actor, is popularly known for playing the role of Newly O'Brien in the radio and TV series, "Gunsmoke."
He initially started his career as a gymnast, while he was in high school. He was, however, denied the opportunity to participate at the 1960 Olympics, after he woefully failed at the U.S. Olympic Trials.
He later began a career in acting and landed his first acting role in James Nielson's 1963 film, "Johnny Shiloh" where he starred as Josh - alongside Kevin Corcoran, Brian Keith, and Darryl Hickman.
Family Life
His father was late American actor, Walter Taylor, Jr., professionally known as Dub Taylor. His mum is known as Florence Heffernan.
He was in a twenty-two-year marriage with Judy Nugent (1961-1983). Taylor got married to Goldie Taylor in 1995. His children are Matthew, Cooper, Adam and Tiffany Taylor.
Achievements
In 1981, he was given the Trustee Award and was initiated into the Cowboy Hall of Fame by the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
He earned the "Golden Boot" at the 1993 Golden Boot Awards.
