About Brooks Robinson
Having played for the Baltimore Orioles from 1955 to 1977, former American baseball player Brooks Calbert Robison jr. was one of the longest career players in the team’s history. The 2-time World Series Champion chalked up over 200 home runs in his professional career.
Early Life
Robinson was born to Brooks Calbert Robinson and Ethel Mae Robinson. Young Robinson grew up entirely independent, working as a soft drink vendor. He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1955 and later went to the University of Arkansas.
Career
He made his first professional debut for the Baltimore Orioles in 1955. His skill and tenacity earned him the third baseman on his Opening Day, and he later became a full-time baseman in 1959. That same year saw him win his first Gold Glove Award and later helped the Orioles win a lot of trophies until his retirement in 1977.
Personal Life
Robinson married Constance Butcher in 1960 and had 4 children with her. Constance was a flight attendant for United Airlines.

In addition to winning the World Series championship in 1966 and 1970, he accomplished the following:

In honor of his long devotion to the Baltimore Orioles, his jersey number 5 was retired in 1978.
The third baseman for the Orioles was inducted into the Baseball of Hall of Fame in 1983.
In 1999, he made it on to the list of the MLB All-Century Team. He was ranked at 80 out of 100 players.
