About Bootsy Collins
He is an American musician, who was originally born William Collins. He was a dominant name in the funk scene during the 1970s. He came into limelight with renowned singer and dancer, James Brown, and later with the group, Parliament-Funkadelic.
He later went on to launch his own band named Bootsy's Rubber Band - with which he dropped his first studio album, "Stretchin' Out in Bootsy's Rubber Band" in 1976. With the same band, he went on to release other albums such as "Ahh... The Name Is Bootsy, Baby!" (1977), "Bootsy? Player of the Year" (1978), and "This Boot Is Made for Fonk-N" (1979).
He worked with the likes of George Clinton, House Guests, Snoop Dogg, Buckethead, Axiom Funk, and several others.
Aside from music, Collins is credited to have made on-screen appearances, including "Standing in the Shadows of Motown" (2002).

His mother is Nettie Collins. His son is music artist, Ouiwey Collins. He wedded Patti Collins in 1996. His brother, Phelps "Catfish" Collins was also a musician and rhythm guitarist.
Achievements
Collins was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
