About Bob Shane
Bob Shane, as he’s famously known in the music world, was a renowned American guitarist, actor and a singer who was known to be the co-founder of the group called The Kingston Trio. He helped the group to release over ten albums with the notable ones being “At Large”, “Something Special” and “Looking for the Sunshine”.
After the group broke up in 1969, he went on a solo career and later formed the band called “The New Kingston Trio”.
As an actor, Shane appeared in numerous movies and television series such as “Playhouse 90”, “Convoy” and “M Squad”.
Family
His real name is Robert Castle Schoen. He was raised by his parents, Margaret and Arthur Castle Schoen. He had five children with a lady known as Louise Brandon. After his divorce, he married Bobbi Childress in 2000.
Trivia
He learnt how to play the guitar and ukulele on his own.
