Robert Brackett Elliott was born in Massachusetts in the US. He was an actor and comedian.
Career
Bob Elliott and Ray Goulding partnered as Bob and Ray, making appearances on radio shows and as they gained popularity for their comedy. They were on television between 1951 and 1953 as hosts for Bob and Ray. Robert was on different shows on television including Newhart.
Personal Life
His son Chris Elliott was also a comedian and actor. His grandchildren, Bridey Elliott and Abby Elliott are both comedians and actresses. He was in the United States Army during World War two. In 1943, he got married to Jane Underwood but the marriage ended about ten years later. When in the year of his divorce, the writer of “Bob and Ray” died, he married his widow. That marriage lasted almost sixty years until she died in 2012. They had five children together, three of their own and two of Raymond Knight’s children that they added to their family.
Death
In February 2016, he died from throat Cancer.
