Billy the Kid (Henry McCarty) was an American gambler and criminal.

He participated in the Lincoln County War and eventually became a frontier outlaw in the American Old West. It was believed that he had killed more than 20 men, but it is now believed that he killed 8.
His Personal Life
He was born in New York City in 1859. He was popular for wearing his Mexican sombrero and, through the years, he became a folk hero. He was shot and killed by Pat Garrett at the age of 21.
