About Billy Corgan
William Patrick “Billy” Corgan Jr., is an American singer-songwriter, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the alternative rock band, The Smashing Pumpkins. In 2017, Corgan purchased and therefore became the owner and promoter of the National Wrestling Alliance.
Family Life
He was born to blues/rock guitarist William Corgan Sr. and Martha Louise Maes Corgan Lutz. He married artist, Chris Fabian in 1993, but divorced two years later.
He has been romantically involved with the likes of Yelena Yemchuk, singer Emilie Autumn, Courtney Love and popstar Jessica Simpson.
He has had a son, Augustus Juppiter Corgan and daughter Philomena Clementine Corgan from his relationship with Chloe Mendel.
Achievements
Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, a 1995 album released by Corgan and the members of the The Smashing Pumpkins band, received seven nominations for Grammy awards and later received ten platinum certifications in the United States.
Trivia
He formed the band, The Smashing Pumpkins in 1988 with guitarist James Iha, drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and bassist D’arcy Wretzky.
He founded Resistance Pro Wrestling in 2011, and became the president of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2016.
He is a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Blackhawks and the Bulls.
He also describes himself as a “wrestlemaniac”, and once hit Lou E. with an acoustic guitar at the Extreme Championship Wrestling event.
