About Bill Medley
Before rising to fame, Bill Medley performed in musical groups like The Romancers, and The Paramours. The American songwriter and singer is best known as the co-founder of the music group The Righteous Brothers.
With hit songs like “You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'” and "Little Latin Lupe Lu", the band became very popular in the 1960s and 1970s.
Solo work
Outside The Righteous Brothers, Medley has recorded some successes as a solo performer. His first single came in 1968 which was titled "I Can't Make It Alone". He’s best known for his 1987 song "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" which he recorded with American singer Jennifer Warnes.
He has produced many successful albums which include “Damn Near Righteous” and “Someone Is Standing Outside”.
Family
He’s officially known as William Thomas Medley. His parents Irma and Arnol Medley were supportive during the early stages of his career. His marriage to Karen O'Grady ended in 1970. The union produced a child called Darrin.
Later that year, he got married to Suzi Robertson but their marriage last for a short period. In 1986, he married Paula, and they have a daughter called McKenna.
Education
His studies at Santa Ana High School ended in 1962. He continued at Cal State University Long Beach.
Achievements
In 1972, he was shortlisted for the “Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist” prize at the Grammy Awards. He won the scheme’s “Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals” accolade in 1988.
