About Bill Maynard
Bill Maynard, born Walter Frederick George Williams, is a British actor. He started performing in music halls and local clubs at the age of 9. His television broadcast debut was on the 12th of September, 1953. He became very famous in the 1970s and 1980s due to his roles in the TV series “Oh No It's Selwyn Froggitt”, “The Gaffer” and “Carry On''. Other popular series which he starred in include “Heartbeat” (1992-2000), “Till Death Us Do Part” in 1968, “Tales Of The Unexpected” in 1980, and “Minder”.

Personal Life
He got married to Muriel Linnett in 1949. After her death, in 1983, he got married to Tonia Bern in 1989 but divorced her in 1998. He had two children.
In 1984, he contested as an Independent Labor candidate in the Chesterfield by-election but he lost. At old age, he suffered from several strokes.
Death
On the 30th of March, 2018, he died in a hospital after he fell and broke his hip.
