About Bikram Choudhury
Indian-born yoga expert, Bikram Choudhury is widely known for developing the Bikram Yoga system. According to him, he started practicing yoga during his time in India when he was in his teens. He moved to the United States in 1971 to start teaching the discipline. He has been considered as a guru in the practice of hot yoga.
His technique became famous after a number of celebrities were seen practicing it. Some prominent people to perform this yoga style include David Beckham and Madonna.
Legal battles
Before the end of 2014, Choudhury had been sued by five women claiming that he had sexually assaulted them. In 2016, he was asked to pay a total of $6.4 million to Minakshi Jafa-Bodden, one of his clients, after she won a lawsuit claiming that she was sexually harassed by Choudhury.

He married fellow yoga expert Rajashree Choudhury in 1984, but they went their separate ways after thirty-one years.
