Beverly Johnson is a famous American model who, in 2008, The New York Times described as “one of the 20th century's most influential people in fashion”. She began her career in 1971 but shot to fame three years later when she was featured on the cover of Vogue magazine, becoming the only black American woman to achieve that.
In 1975, her name entered the history books as the first-ever African-American woman to cover the French version of the Elle magazine. Throughout her career, she has been featured in over 500 publications.
Acting career
This celebrity has also made a name for herself in the movie industry. She has starred in many films and television shows including “The Meteor Man” and “Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns”. She was the main cast in Oprah Winfrey Network’s reality show entitled “Beverly's Full House”.

She was raised by her mum called Gloria Johnson. Between 1971 and 1974, she was married to Billy Potter, an estate agent. She later married Danny Sims with whom she had a child called Anansa Sims. She has also been in a relationship with Chris Noth, an actor.

She attended Northeastern University after completing Bennett High School.

As a singer, she released her maiden album in 1979 titled “Don't Lose The Feeling”.
