Early Life
The rugby player grew up in New Zealand. He was born to Ken Franks and Julie Franks. He attended the Christchurch Boys' High School. He later went to Aranui High School, where he graduated, continuing to nurture his love for rugby. He started out his amateur career with Linwood RFC until he was called up professionally in 2015.
Career
Franks made his senior debut in 2015 after he signed for the rugby football club London Irish. He stayed with the club until 2018. He later went on to play for Northampton Saints from 2018 to 2020. He had other short spells with various teams in previous years, such as Canterbury from 2005 to 2012, Tasman from 2007 to 2011, and Hawke's Bay from 2013 to 2015. Franks also played for the Crusaders from 2006 to 2012 and the Hurricanes from 2013 to 2015.
In 2020, he joined the coaching staff of the Welsh rugby union team Scarlets.
