About Auguste Escoffier
Auguste Escoffier was a famous French restaurateur and chef celebrated for improving the traditional methods of French cooking. He was famously known for his works with Swiss hotelier César Ritz, where he managed most of his kitchens.
According to accounts, Escoffier was particular about the discipline and hygienic conditions of his workers which made him one of the respected chefs in the 1890s.
As an author
Escoffier has influenced many chefs with his numerous publications. His first book was launched in 1886 titled “Le Traité sur L'art de Travailler les Fleurs en Cire”. In 1934, he published perhaps his most popular book entitled “Ma Cuisine”
Legal issues
In 1890, he was hired by Savoy Hotel to work as one of their chefs. The hotel started recording some commercial successes until 1897 when they began making losses. In view of this, a team of investigators were appointed to look into the activities of the organization. It was later revealed that Escoffier, together with Ritz and Louis Echenard, had been involved in some fraudulent activities.
He was asked to pay an amount of £8,000 out of the £16,000 loss recorded by the hotel.

He had three children with Delphine Daffis. The children are named Paul, Germaine, and Daniel.
