About Armin Shimerman
After his college education, Armin Shimerman was selected to join the Old Globe Theater as an apprentice. It was during his time with the group that he developed the love for acting. He later joined the Impossible Ragtime Theater to work as a stage performer.
According to records, he started appearing on TV in 1979 when he was cast in the series “Woman at West Point”. He gained global recognition for his performance in the sci-fi series entitled “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” where he was cast as Quark.
He has also provided voices for characters in many animated productions. Some of these characters are General Skarr in “Evil Con Carne”, and Dr. Achilles Miloe in “Batman: Arkham Underworld”.
Family
He was born to Herbert Shimerman and his accountant wife Susan. He has been married to Kitty Swink, an actress, since 1981.
Education
Shimerman performed in drama during his time at Santa Monica High School. He continued at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Trivia
Aside from acting, he has also published many books with some titled “The 34th Rule” and “Betrayal of Angels”.
He’s also known to be a teacher and has taught in institutions like the University of Southern California.
