About Apollo Anton Ohno
Though he developed a love for skating at an early age, Apollo Anton Ohno started his career at the age of 13 when he attended his full-time training. The following year, he won the United States Championship, becoming the youngest person in history to achieve that.
Specialized in the short track speed event, Ohno went on to win the World Cup in 1999, and again became the youngest skater to do that. Before he retired in 2010, he had won two Winter Olympics gold medals. He also won four bronze and two silver medals at the Games during his active days.
Television appearances
Aside from his skating adventures, he has also gained fame for his participation in many television shows. He teamed up with Julianne Hough to win the reality series dubbed “Dancing with the Stars” in 2007. Other shows that he has appeared in include “Hawaii Five-0” and “The Biggest Loser”.
Family
He spent most of his childhood days with his Japanese father Yuki Ohno. He’s also the son of Jerrie Lee. He started a romantic relationship with Bianca Stam in 2016.
Education
He attended the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs to read business.
Achievements
In 2009, he was ushered into the prestigious United States Olympic Hall of Fame.
