Antonio McDyess is a retired basketball player who featured as power forward in the NBA mainly playing for Detroit Pistons and Denver Nuggets for close to sixteen years.
Career Records
Starting from the 1995 regular seasons, McDyess played mostly for the Nuggets and Pistons. He has also played for Phoenix Suns, New York and San Antonio Spurs, with eighty-two career high appearances for the Pistons for two consecutive seasons in 2005-2007. He averaged 12.1 rebounds with the Nuggets.
Before retiring in 2011, he had made over 1,000 appearances in the NBA and had enjoyed as high as a $15 million transfer sum from Pistons to the Spurs in 2009.
Injuries and Breaks
As with most sportsmen, Antonio had to take breaks due to injuries: at the end of the 2001/02 and the entire 2002/03 seasons, he was off pitch to undergo treatment for a rapture in knee tendon.
Awards
Antonio won Player of the Week Award in 1999 and 2000 and the NBA All-Star in 2001. He won first place in the 1995/96 All-Rookie and the third All-NBA in 1998/99, among others.
