About António de Oliveira Salazar
He was a famous politician and a Portuguese Prime Minister who ruled for over four decades between 1932 and 1968. He was known for his dictatorship. During his reign, he introduced the corporatist authoritarian type of government. Also, he adopted the nationalist and conservative way of ruling. Salazar was also recognized for the formation and introduction of the Estado Novo in Portugal.

He studied at Viseu's seminary and the University of Coimbra.
Family
Salazar was an offspring of Maria do Resgate Salazar and António de Oliveira. He had four siblings including Elisa Salazar de Oliveira.
Death
Salazar died on 27th of July, 1970.
Honors
He received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Civil Law in 1939 from the University of Oxford. He also received the Grand Collar of the Order of Prince Henry in 1968.
Trivia
Salazar, without his knowledge, was removed from power when he fell sick at the age of 79.
