About Ansel Adams
Ansel Adams was a celebrated American photographer and environmentalist known for his black-and-white landscape photographs of the American West and for developing the Zone System along with Fred Archer. He was also a co-founder of the photography group called Group f/64.
Family Life
He was the only child of Charles Hitchcock Adams and Olive Bray Adams. He was married to Virginia Rose Best and had two children: Anne Adams and Michael Adams.
Achievements
He was awarded the highest civilian award of the United States, the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1980. In 2007, he was posthumously inducted into the California Hall of Fame by the then California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and then First Lady of California Maria Shriver.
