Background
The son of a chess champion, Tate was born in Washington D.C but raised in England. He started out playing chess like his father, Emory Tate, but decided to focus on kickboxing.
Career
Tate began kickboxing at the age of 19 in the light-heavyweight category. He had an impressive career winning 76 fights out of 85 and with 23 of them being won through knock-outs.
In 2016, Tate was a guest housemate in Big Brother UK but a video surfaced of him beating a woman with a belt which led to his disqualification just 6 days into the show. He has unapologetically declared himself a misogynist and has made disparaging comments about women.
In August, Tate was permanently banned from Facebook and Instagram for dehumanizing a group. Shortly after that his 1.3 billion-viewed account on TikTok was removed and he suspended on YouTube as well.
Trivia
Tate shared a video on his Gettr (a social media platform for extreme views) of him praying in a mosque in Dubai and announcing he had converted to Islam.
