The American musician started gaining attention as a member of the folk-rock group Bryndle, which also had members like Karla Bonoff and Kenny Edwards. His role in Linda Ronstadt’s 1974 album titled “Heart Like a Wheel” also increased his popularity.

After working with a number of musicians, Gold began his solo career with a self-titled album in 1975. He’s best known for his international hit songs "Lonely Boy" and "Never Let Her Slip Away".
