About Amrish Puri
Amrish Puri was a celebrated Indian actor best known in his home country for starring in the 1987 Hindi filmMr. India, in which he portrayed the character Mogambo. Outside India, he is best remembered for starring as Mola Ram in the 1984 Hollywood film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Family Life
He was the fourth child of Mst Ved Kaur and Lala Nihal Singh Puri. He married Urmila Diveker in 1957. The marriage produced two children and lasted until his death in 2005.
Awards
Throughout his career, he won several awards including three Filmfare Awards. He won the Best Actor Award at the 1994 Sydney Film Festival for portraying Mehesar Dalal in the 1993 Hindi film Suraj Ka Satvan Ghoda.
