About Alejandro Jodorowsky
Chilean-French personality Alejandro Jodorowsky is the perfect example of a “Jack of all trades” in the entertainment industry. He has proved this through his work as a screenwriter, novelist, playwright, poet, essayist, producer and director (for film and theater), film editor, actor, comic writer, a puppeteer, a musician and composer. However, it is his work as a filmmaker which has brought him enormous fame through the release of films such as “The Holy Mountain” and “El Topo”.
Family Life
He was raised in Chile by his Jewish-Ukrainian parents, Jaime Jodorowsky Groismann and Sara Felicidad Prullansky Arcavi. He was first married to Valérie Trumblay, an actress. He has five children, including actor Brontis Jodorowsky and actor/tarologist Cristobal.
Achievements
He won a Haxtur Award in 2001 and the Chicago Underground Film Festival’s Jack Smith Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.
