Alejandro González Iárritu is a veteran Mexican film director, producer, and screenwriter who has earned artistic respect and numerous awards across the world for his great work in the industry.
Naturally adapted to the entertainment world during his early days Alejandro began deejaying in local bars. Later, he worked as a radio broadcaster before moving on to producing shows and developing advertisements for television.
He founded Zeta Films, a production company that gave him the freedom to develop telefilms and advertising in his own style. He commenced his journey into the cinematic world in the early 1980s by scoring several Mexican feature films. His roles in the films "Babel," "Amores Perres," "Birdman," and "The Revenant" catapulted him into mainstream success. In addition Alejandro is also known for his successful works in several critically acclaimed films and television series such as "Flesh and Sand", and "21 Grams".

He has been married to María Eladia Hagerman.
He is a father of two children namely María Eladia Iñárritu, and Eliseo Iñárritu.
His parents are Luz María Iñárritu and Hector González Gama.
Héctor González Iñárritu is his sibling.
