His parents named him Alejandro Fernández Abarca and he has three siblings, two older brothers and an older sister. His father was one of his pillars with regards to his singing career and encouraged him with it. Initially, he wanted to work as an architect and pursued an education to that effect but in 1991, he decided to focus on music. He is known to have five children with his ex-wife.
Career
Even though his career started in 1991, his first album was released in 1992 and was self-titled. As of 2020, he had released over fifteen studio albums and went on to release a few live albums.
Challenges
His brother by name Vincente got into trouble when a group of people from organized crime kidnapped him for ransom. To prove they were serious, they sent his finger to his father as proof and eventually, his father paid the ransom demanded before Vincente was freed.
Trivia
He is said to have undergone a vasectomy in the 2000’s.
