About Albert King
Albert King was an iconic American blues guitarist best known for his hit single Born Under a Bad Sign which was released in 1967. Some of his other notable songs include I'll Play the Blues for You and Pride and Joy. He is regarded as one of the most influential blues guitarists of all time. He, Freddie King and B.B. King made up the legendary "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar".
Achievements
In 2013, he was honored with a posthumous induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Trivia
He made his first guitar by himself using a cigar box.
Since he was left-handed, the only way he could play right-handed guitars was by turning them upside down.
He earned his popular nickname "The Velvet Bulldozer" because of his smooth singing voice and his huge physical stature.
