About Al Roker
In 1996, Al Roker was selected to present the weather on NBC’s show dubbed “The Today Show”. Since then, the American author, television personality, and journalist has been one of the famous faces on television in his homeland.
His career began somewhere in the 1970s when he was hired by WTVH to be their weather anchor. He then joined the NBC through their affiliate channel called WKYC in 1978. He has also hosted a number of shows like “Tricked-Out Tailgating” and “Roker on the Road” which were premiered on the Food Network.
As an author, he has published lots of book such as “The Midnight Show Murders” which he collaborated with fellow writer, Dick Lochte; and “Been There, Done That: Family Wisdom for Modern Times”.
Family
He has a Jamaican ancestry. His parents are called Isabel and Albert Lincoln Roker Sr. He got married to Alice Bell in 1984, but the union lasted for a decade. In 1995, he married Deborah Roberts, co-author of his book titled “Been There, Done That: Family Wisdom for Modern Times”. His children are called Courtney, Leila, and Nicholas Albert.
Trivia
In 2014, his name entered into the ‘Guinness Book of World Records’ after he completed a 34-hour news report.
