Al Lopez was a successful Spanish-American professional baseball player who became one of the sport's most renowned managers.

Having a natural talent for the game as a youngster, he worked tirelessly to become the finest of his era through perseverance, making his professional debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers at 16 in 1928, where he played for five years.
