Early Days
The journalist was born to Adolfo Bioy Domecq and Marta Ignacia Casares Lynch. He came from a wealthy home, and this allowed him the time to focus more on sharpening his literacy skills. The writer attended the Universidad de Buenos Aires but could not graduate from the university. He, however, chose to focus more on his literature.
Career
Casares focused on his literature and produced his first piece called "The Invention of Morel” in 1940. Other novels that he wrote include: "El perjurio de la nieve" in 1944, "El sueño de los héroes" in 1954, "Dormir al Sol" in 1973 and "Dormir al Sol" in 1973.
Casares produced a collection of short stories including, "Las vísperas de Fausto" in 1949, "El lado de la sombra" in 1962, and "Historias desaforadas" in 1986.
Personal Life
Casares tied the knot with Silvina Ocampo from 1940 to 1993. He died in 1999 and was survived by 2 children.
