About Aaron Mckie
Aaron McKie spent 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA) between 1994 and 2007. Following his retirement, he transitioned into coaching, eventually becoming head coach in 2019 at Temple University.
Early Career
McKie attended Temple University, where he played college basketball. When he was a junior, he won the 1993 Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Year.
Professional Basketball & Coaching
He was drafted into the NBA in 1994 and joined the Portland Trailblazers. Throughout his 14-year career, he also played for the Detroit Pistons, Philadelphia 76ers, and the LA Lakers. He retired in 2007 and between 2008 and 2013, worked as an assistant coach to the 76ers.
Achievements
In 1993, while in college, McKie won the Robert V. Geasey Trophy. He also won the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year that same year. In 2001, he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.
